FlatRacer BMW K1, K100, K1100 (4 cylinders) HES Hall sensor ignition trigger kit - 12111459033
BMW K1, K100, K1100 Hall sensor ignition trigger kit - 12111459033
FlatRacer BMW K1, K100, K1100 (4 cylinders) HES Hall sensor ignition trigger kit - 12111459033 / 0 232 101 002
Hall sensor kit fully designed and developed by us to fully replace the ignition trigger set up on all BMW K Series 4 cylinders made between 1983 to 1996 (BMW K100, K1, K100RS 16v, K1100).
The original sensors are notorious for failing after 20+ years of service, especially its wiring, due to heat and exposure to elements.
Our ignition trigger/hall sensor kit is designed as a straight forward complete replacement, plug & play, using high quality components. These include:
- High quality, EU sourced Hall sensors with uprated, heat resistant wiring
- High temperature (300 degrees Celsius +) & EMI resistant silicone coated fibreglass outer wiring sleeve/sheath
- Wiring rubber grommet - direct replica and correct D shape for a perfect fit
- FR developed and improved 5 pin electrical connector plug - direct fit
- Stainless steel A304 back plate
- Stainless steel A304 back plate wiring clamps - direct copies of the originals
- Stainless steel A304 fasteners
Our Hall sensors are bolted in place using stainless steel fasteners instead of being riveted. This allows for a fairly quick and easy replacement, if the need ever arises.
A very useful and essential Hall sensor kit to replace a failing or failed original sensor or keep it as a spare on the bike if travelling on longer journey.
A spare kit kept on the bike will help immeasurably if a sensor fails and leaves you stranded by the road side, awaiting a potentially long and expensive recovery and repair.
Options:
- Hall sensor test/timing LED tool (shortly available)
Replaces original BMW reference:
112111459033 (supersedes 12111459028)
Bosch reference:
0 232 101 002
Will Fit:
- BMW K100 models (all variants)
- BMW K1
- BMW K100 RS 16v
- BMW K1100 (all variants)
Fitting is fairly straightforward, please consult the workshop manual or a good alternative manual such as Clymer
IMPORTANT:
To correctly time the ignition, please use either a good quality Ignition Timing Strobe light (connected to an HT lead) or a specific Hall sensor test tool with a 12v resistor LED - NEVER use a normal 12v bulb as it will damage irreversibly the Hall sensors
Please check if indeed this is the correct kit for your bike. Verify its electrical connector plug and confirm it as it may have been repaired/replaced in the past. Later K1200 models with the derived engine block uses a different plug (also available).
For test and reference purposes, please note the wiring colours on the original harness/plugs:
- Clear EMI shield braid cable
- Orange: HES 1 (top)
- Brown HES 2 (lower)
- Red 12v+ power supply
- Black 12v- Earth/Ground
Before replacing a failed Hall sensor, please check carefully the ignition coil, HT lead cables and wiring. If the coil pack is damaged or cracked and/or HT leads and caps are degraded or spark plugs past their best, please replace as appropriate as these can cause Hall sensor and ignition failure.
Carefully check the timing chain and its tensioner and pads as these wear and slacken with use and age. These are relatively inexpensive and now may be a good time to replace it before it fails.
