BMW ignition module for all the BMW Paralever Series, including the R65, R80 & R100 GS produced after 1987, including our own stainless steel bracket ans stainless steel fasteners for a quick and easy replacement of this fail prone item.
It will fit:
- R65 GS
- R80 GS
- R80 GS Paris Dakar
- R100 GS
- R100 GS Paris Dakar
- R80 R
- R100 R
- R100 Mystic
It includes a sturdy alloy heatsink for better dispersion of heat, a significant improvement on the original set up (cast alloy single unit) .
Although the original set up was not particularly fragile, the ignition module heatsink paste degraded due to age and heat, a fact that was often neglected during servicing which inevitably often lead to a sudden and inconvenient failure of the module, stopping the engine altogether.
Our replacement module includes a stainless steel bracket, s/s fastener and spacers to enable the quick and easy installation of this module on the frame's original mounting bracket.
If our module has not failed yet, it is nevertheless a good idea to carry one of these modules as a spare in your centre tool tray or rear cowl glove box.
