A very useful DIN 12v auxiliary power socket kit designed and produced by us to fit all the BMW Airhead Boxer twin shock models including the /5, /6, /7 Series and R45/65 models made between 1970-1984.
Our kit includes:
- Stainless steel bracket, an improved replica of the often rusted and/or damaged original bracket
- Weatherproof DIN female plug with a plastic body and rubber lid
- Weatherproof socket wiring rubber boot
- Inline Continental fuse holder (and a supplied 8amp fuse)
- Up-rated 33 amp/3.0mm2 thin-wall wires (red positive and brown negative) with M6 eyelet terminals for the battery
- Plastic zip ties (4) to secure the wiring to the frame/battery tray if required
We've produced this kit with up-rated 33amp electrical wires (originals were rated at circa 16amp), easily capable of handling up to 400W draw for short periods if required (you will need to change the fuse to 30 amp).
Very practical and useful auxiliary power 12v DIN socket, allowing you to quickly connect (with the correct DIN plug/adaptor) a battery tender or charger, charge a GPS unit, a mobile, tablet, power pack or even a heated vest!
It is usually fitted to the LH (left) rear shock absorber top mounting bolt, from inside the sub-frame.

IMPORTANT:
Not recommend for power jumping to start the engine. Please use correct 55 amp+ power jump cables as the starter motor can draw quite bit of power and overheat or burn the wires under continuous use.
