Designed and developed by us to enable secure and easy access for all the BMW R2v Airhead Boxer engines, made between 1955 (/2 Series) to 1996.
Our heavy duty engine stand is made of 6mm thick laser cut steel, ergonomically designed for an optimised view and access of all the inner components.
The FlatRacer BMW R2v Airhead Boxer engine stand has been designed to provide an easy access to the external fasteners. It provides slight adjustment to the positioning of the engine (tilt upwards or downwards) through its two different mounting holes positioning present on the side plates.
The engine stand is bolted together as an assembly using the supplied stainless steel M8 bolts, washers and nyloc nuts (16).
If required, the stand can be bolted to a work branch, platform etc. using the pre-drilled 4 x M10 holes (fasteners NOT supplied)
This tool is made of heavy duty 6mm thick steel, providing a stable and secure work platform.
We can supply as an option at extra cost, a set of our stainless steel engines studs (2 x short type) to secure your engine on this stand.
Stainless steel M12 engine studs complete with nyloc nuts and washers available separately (pre-81 with 1 x long + 1 short & post 81 with 2 x short type) along with spring shackles, spacers etc.. Please check our other listings.
IMPORTANT:
1 - Care should be exercised when handling as this engine stand weighs over 8Kg (17lbs). Personal protection equipment is recommended when handling it (ie: eye glasses, gloves and steel toe cap shoes).
2 - Engine stand is made of bare metal steel, light oiling of its surface is highly recommended to avoid and keep surface rust at bay.
3 - Engine stand will not clear fitted oil cooler thermostats. Certain type of oil filter covers may require further adjustments to clear (ie: spacers between stand side and transversal plates to increase width). Please contact us for further advice.
