Our FR stainless steel top yoke plate is a direct replacement of the original which will accept the BMW headlight pegs/handlebar risers and instruments' bracket.
The polished stainless steel fork top nuts are a direct replacement of the original nuts, often rusted and damaged (not uncommon seeing chisel our pin punch mark on them). These fit onto the original BMW /5, /6, R90S and early /7 fork top nuts, exactly the same way as the original nut caps.
The low profile top nut caps allows the fitting of the original yoke mounted low rise and flat (RS type) handlebars without any adjustments required, unlike our for pre-load adjusters.
The FlatRacer BMW R2v polished stainless steel top yoke centre top nut is also a direct replacement of the often damaged/rusty original. Our nut has however been modified in its design to integrate a machined recess that allows the fitting of our supplied 16mm BMW enamel badge (not cheap plastic). It also features a centre hole for the bikes equipped with the original BMW steering damper and its adjuster knob.
The stainless steel construction of all the kit components will ensure a corrosion free finish and ease of maintenance.
This Set represents outstanding value for money, with a significant saving over its individually sold items.
Fits all the early /7 Series models made between 1976 and August 1978, fitted with fork top nuts with the large internal threads for this type of top caps.
It will NOT fit the the later BMW /7 series with fork top nuts with M8 filler top bolt nor any other models such as R45/65 Series (typ 248). It will also NOT fit the later Monolever/Paralever/GS models. We have available alternative kits for these later models, please check our other listings or contact us for more info and details.
IMPORTANT:
1 - The 16mm BMW enamel badge has a 3M adhesive backing. However, to ensure proper and safe fit, the nut recess surfaces needs to be thoroughly cleaned and de-greased. We strongly recommend that you also apply a tiny drop of superglue or similar applied to the badge backing.
2 - Fits only the BMW /7 Series early models (76-78) made between 1976 and August 1978. It can be made to fit the later /7 Series models but only those if you use the early type fork top nuts with larger internal threads for this type of fork top caps.
