Accurate replica of the BMW R100 RS solo seat cover (also known as 3/4 seat), first offered as a standard fit on the firts BMW R100 RS (1976) and later available as an expensive option by BMW for their RS and /7 Series (1976-1984). The iconic and distinctive RS bodywork including this seat/tail was a design by Hans Muth, later of Target Design (responsible for the Suzuki Katana among others).

We've produced these covers in mid-blue, the closest match we could get to the Motorsport blue covers that BMW offered for their 1978 special edition (rumoured to be a cancelled order of 200 R100 RS bikes destined for some foreign government authorities).

Please bear in mind that originally, the Motorsport editions with blue seat covers had dual seats fitted with a cowl, as first seen with the BMW R90S . We've produced this 3/4 seat cover as an homage to the original seat. If you require a RS/RT/S/CS /7 etc. cowl type dual seat cover, either in black or blue, please check our listings.

The seat cover is made of heavy duty vinyl with a hot pressed pattern, like the originals. It is double skinned (two layers of vinyl) and padded to enhance looks (helps deepen pattern hot pressing) and increase working life. Sturdy, well made, well finished and very useful item to repair the often damaged originals.

We know how difficult it is to assess colours on a computer screen so we've included photos show the cover under harsh sun light and overcast skies and indoors so you have a good idea about its hue.

IMPORTANT: 

1 - This seat cover replaces the original BMW R100 RS 3/4 Solo seat cover. Please look carefully at the photos to ensure this is the correct cover for your seat or contact us for more info. 

 2 - If you need to repair your seat base (commonly corroded/rotten around the seat hinges), please contact us for advice and parts, we can supply strong rivnuts, large flanged rivets, stainless steel fasteners, hinges, lock spigots, etc. to help you repair your seat base.

3 - Repairing a seat and re-covering it is a fairly skilled job. If you are not familar or comfortable with this type of work, we would suggest enlisting the services of a competent local trimmer versed in motorcycle seat repair work.
