BMW Airhead Boxer post 1981 oil temperature gauge dipstick - WHITE face
BMW Airhead Boxer post 1981 oil temperature gauge dipstick - WHITE face
A very neat and elegant oil temperature gauge that replaces the original dipstick on the post 1981 BMW R2v Airhead Boxer models fitted with the larger and deeper oil sump.
Length of 285mm
Celsius scale of 0-140 degrees.
Particularly useful to monitor engine temperatures if riding on hotter climates, longer continuous running of in heavy urban traffic. Higher temperatures can cause all kind of issues, including burnt valves, dropped valve seats, poorer lubrication and accelerated wear.
This gauge will warn you and tell you when to take a break and let the air and oil cooled engine cool itself down.
Fits exactly as the original dipstick, equipped with a rubber o-ring for an effective seal and the correct engine breather valve function.
NB: Can be fitted to the earlier models if fitted with the later, post September 1980 oil sump (a common and popular upgrade) or with our oil sump extension plate kit (please see our other listings).
IMPORTANT: There are NO level marking on this gauge. We would suggest carrying the original dipstick on the bike (perhaps within the frame top tube) or mark carefully the low and max levels (shallow marks) on the gauge rod for your reference.
Black face version also available, please check our other listings.
