Heavy duty BMW Airhead Boxer flywheel holding tool. made of S235 steel, 8mm thick

Based on the original factory Matra tool but further improved by us to fit all BMW R50/5, R60/5 and R75/5 typ 247 engines, made between 1969 and September 1973.

Will also work with later engines although by jamming against the engine block sidewall. If you have or work mainly with the later post 74 engines, please check our other version of this tool.

Essential tool to lock the flywheel in place, preventing it from turning during engine dismantling and rebuild. 

Specifically designed to securely undo and tighten in place the flywheel/crankshaft bolts. Operation described in the truly excellent Clymer workshop manual (also available, see our other listings) in Chapter 5, pages 202-203.
