This sale includes:
- 1 x FlatRacer BMW /5 replica stainless steel side panels (pair)
Accurate replicas of the rare chrome steel side panels fitted mainly as option to the US supplied BMW /5 Series (70-73).
Made of strong and corrosion proof stainless steel. Carefully produced and hand finished.
It includes a pre-fitted metal bracket on the inward face to slide the original holding rubber band (not included).
Pre-trimmed with small notches to clear the rear-sub-frame holding tabs, as per the original panels.
Fits all the BMW /5 Series models as originally intended but can also be fitted without modifications to the later /6 and /7 Series (73-84) Series if required.
It could be be fitted with minor modifications (trimming) to the later Monolever models (post 1985), useful for special projects.
OPTIONS: Also available in glossy black at slightly extra cost. If you prefer this option, please indicate it on the options box.
IMPORTANT:
1 - These side panels are notorious for being lost and damaged as their fitting is precarious at best, relying on a rubber band connecting the two side panels under tension. We strongly recommend that you drill two small 4mm holes to allow the fastening of plastic ties to the sub-frame. Please contact us for further advice.
2 - Please note these these panels are supplied plain, without the original black painted stripes. These can be applied by carefully de-greasing, lightly abrading, masking and painting or cut to size some black vinyl stickers.
