BMW Airhead Boxer 1070cc Performance Kit designed to fit all BMW Airhead Boxer engines made after September 1980
The big daddy! Increase your 980cc BMW Boxer R2v engine to 1070cc, increasing significantly power and torque in the process.
It includes:
- Pair of new alloy Nikasil plated cylinders
- Pre-fitted stainless pushrod tubes (4)
- Pair of lighter forged pistons offering 9.5:1 compression ratio,
- Complete set of piston rings
- Piston gudgeon pins and circlips
- Lighter forged 151mm ctc con rods (pair)
- Set of big end shells (4)
- Sports asymmetrical camshaft
- All the necessary gaskets and rubbers to fit it on your engine
This Big Bore kit Increases cylinder capacity to 1070cc, offering an increase of power to over 80BHP with a noticeable improvement of torque available (between 90 to 116 Nm, depending on cylinder heads, carburetion etc.) available, making for a faster, more tractable bike.
Supplied with 151mm conrods and a Sports asymmetric camshaft ideally suited for Fast Road and Race engines that thrive with higher revs.
The forged conrods are not only stronger than the originals but also weight optimised, with only 450gr each after being fitted with the supplied ARP high tensile bolts. Together with the lighter forged pistons (428gr per piston incl. rings & pins), this lighter assembly offers a much quicker throttle response thanks to less inertia.

1 - Please note that these kits are only available as a straight fit for the later Series /7 engines made after September 1980.
2 - Specialist fit. Extensive knowledge about these engines and specific BMW Typ 247 engine tools are required to assemble and fit this kit. We strongly recommend that you entrust this job to a competent and renowned BMW specialist if uncomfortable or lack experience with this type of work.
