The BMW R2v /Boxer R45/65 Series single seat, was originally supplied with TIC (Authorities, Police etc) models and remains a popular option today for its comfort and practicality, especially for those travelling solo and/or requiring the fit of a larger rear luggage rack or wish to attain a more "Scrambler" look.
Our FR TIC single seat is based on the original idea but differs significantly in design, shape, form and build quality. Our mission was to develop a very high quality replacement single seat, with a more rounded and sleeker look that would exude class and refinement.
The FlatRacer BMW R45 & R65 TIC single seat is built with our own and uniquely designed and developed fibreglass seat base, made, thus corrosion resistant unlike the rust prone originals, offering a very long working life. The base finished in semi-gloss black, for that original look. As per our usual standards, it is incredibly strong (5-7mm thick), thanks to be reinforced with 300/600gr/m2 woven roving (similar to yacht construction methods), flexible yet nigh on unbreakable. No more rusted or cracked seats!
The seat is fitted with our BMW OEM locking spigot fitted with the correct conical rubber stop and our specifically developed stainless steel hinges (which will fit the original seats). It is fitted with either a black or dark chocolate brown heavy duty seat cover featuring an attractive hot pressed pleated pattern, pre-fitted with the very elegant polished side alloy trims.
Most importantly, our seat is supplied with a revised stainless steel front hinge ensuring positive and safe location. The hinges and locking spigot offer a small degree of adjustment for a perfect fit as often the hinge pins or sub-frame are slightly distorted from 30+ years of use.
Unlike other similar seats on the market, our seat is very carefully and lovingly hand crafted, finished and trimmed, taking many hours of work.
The cover is uniquely held in place by original type stainless steel holding trims, riveted in place. We ensure that our seats looks as good underneath as on top thus no unsightly glue residues unlike other inferior replica seats on the market place.
The polished side alloy trims (not cheap chrome effect plastic) are carefully positioned and bolted in place using stainless steel fasteners.
All seats are checked pre-trial fitted prior to sale to ensure proper and correct fit.

NB: in order to fit the optional rear luggage rack, you will need to re-drill the sub-frame to accept the rack's front mounts. Please do contact us for more information and details.
IMPORTANT: This seat will only fit the BMW R45 & R65 models made between 1978 and September 1984, fitted with the original fuel tanks (screw in, flush type fuel cap), frames and sub-frames. It will NOT fit later bikes or those with different tanks and modified frames/sub-frames.
