FlatRacer BMW Classic Café Racer kit

We have designed and developed this kit for those who wish to transform their classic BMW R2v Airhead into a great period looking Cafe Racer yet keeping its practicality.

Our BMW Classic Cafe Racer kit features the following:

  • Giuliari Sports replica Cafe Racer seat w/ side alloy trims
  • Rear stainless steel 5" or 6" medium rear mudguard incl. fittings (please state your choice)
  • Lucas 564 tail light assembly, pre-fitted
  • Fork brace kit featuring our s/s 5" short front mudguard
  • Monza deluxe alloy fuel cap kit (or our s/s Top Yoke plate & steering top centre nut w/ badge plus chrome fork top caps for the /6 models)
  • FlatRacer BMW /6 & /7 chrome & stainless steel headlight pegs (will accept BMW 22mm ignition switch)
  • FlatRacer Ace handlebar - correct 22.0mm OD diameter - essential for a good fit of the BMW original switchgear
  • Stainless steel round bar end mirror (1)
  • MegaTon exhaust silencers (pair)

It comprises our Giuliari Sports replica seat, featuring a very sturdy black powder coated metal base, zinc plated steel hinges and locking spigot with the correct BMW OEM conical rubber stop. It locks and hinges as per the original, making it a straight forward, bolt on conversion

In addition, we have included our new 6" (or the more rounded and narrower 5") stainless steel mudguard with a pre-fitted L564 tail light. The mudguard is pre-trimmed, pre-drilled and pre-mated, making it a simple job to replace the original fibreglass item. To complement the period look, we've added our own fork brace kit featuring a matching 5" short s/s front mudguard.

To further enhance the period look we have included our own FlatRacer Ace handlebar, made of 22.0mm chromed steel tubing, the correct size to fit the original BMW switch gear smoothly, unlike the more commonly found 7/8". The Ace bar is fitted using the original bar clamps. 

We also include a stainless steel round bar end mirror plus our own FR Chrome & Stainless steel headlight brackets which we've designed to keep the same geometries as the original pegs and will readily accept the BMW ignition switch pivot on pre 85 bikes). 

OPTIONS: We've also included our deluxe polished alloy Monza cap, a direct replacement for all the post 1976 screw in/flush caps. For the earlier /6 models, we include instead our s/s Top Yoke plate and s/s steering top centre nut w/ badge for the /6 Series and the original chrome fork top caps.

To finish, we've included our favourite silencers, the MegaTons, which are also one of the easiest to fit on the BMW R2v /5  to /7 frames.

NB: This kit is designed to fit the BMW /6 & /7 series. We can offer similar kits for other series, please do contact us with your requirement. Please contact us for alternative options for the earlier BMW /5 Series and later R45/65 & Monolever Series (85 on).

IMPORTANT: This kits, as all other kits, package deals and parts we develop and offer for sale, do not require any irreversible modifications. Your bikes can be returned to the original specification, re-fitting the original components at any given time, with the minimum of hassle.
