FlatRacer BMW Cafe Racer Solitude tail kit
Our sleekest tail kit for the BMW Airhead Boxer Series.
We can prepare it to fit all the BMW /5 SWB, /7 Series (76-84), R45/65 (78-84) and the Monolever models (85-96)
It includes:
- FlatRacer Solitude GRP tail section, pre-trimmed and drilled
- Pre-fitted stainless steel front hinge incl. s/s fasteners
- Pre-fitted BMW OEM locking spigot
- Pre-fitted front rubber bump stops incl. s/s fasteners
- Upholstered seat base, pre-fitted w/ rivnuts & stainless fasteners
- BMW 70mm alloy roundel emblem
As per our standard practice with our tail kits, it comes with a pre-fitted upholstered seat base, fixed by 8 stainless steel bots and penny washers onto the base pre-fitted rivnuts. This makes it easier to remove it for paint or repair.
The foam (50mm thick) has the correct density for comfort and ergonomics and the heavy duty, double skinned and padded vinyl seat cover features our trademark pleated design, hot pressed in place to keep it water resistant. The seat cover is very carefully and neatly fitted in place, held in place by large flange alloy rivets.
Optional polished alloy seat trim (shown) also pre-fitted, available at additional cost.

IMPORTANT:
1 - If fitting this tail kit to a BMW Monolever, it will be required to cut off the small upright pin on the rear sub-frame LH top tube (helmet lock pin).
2 - Please note that due to hollow design of this tail kit, it is not possible to fit a rear hinge. The kit includes a pre-fitted mid hinge and a BMW OEM lock spigot which requires the original seat lock mechanism to be retained. The tail also includes pre-fitted front rubber stops. This arrangement has proven to be a very acceptable solution to fix the tail kit to the original sub-frame, without irreversible modifications. 3 - These tail kits are made to order to fit each specific bike model and year and customers' specific requests. please do allow us 1-2 weeks to have it ready from point of order.
