FlatRacer BMW R2v Monza tank cap kit, developed by us as a straight swap for the functional but not that attractive flush black BMW cap.
It fits all BMW R2v tanks made after 1976 fitted with screw in, flush black caps (not certain G/S types). This includes all BMW /7 Series (76-84), BMW R45/65 (78-84), Monolever Series (85-96) and Paralever models such as the R100 R and Mystic.
It includes a manually and individually machined alloy adaptor collar, a high quality alloy Monza cap (2 1/2"), fitted with a proper vent and seal plus an original BMW top dust seal and lower grooved o-ring.
The FlatRacer designed alloy adaptor collar is the same as seen on our Europa 2.5" caps so interchangeable). Our FR Monaxa cap is pre-fitted with a brand new and an original BMW top dust seal and BMW lower sealing grooved o-ring.
IMPORTANT:
1 - Our adaptor collar is designed for a precision and tight fit. Please ensure that your tank cap opening is free of rust, debris and distortion, lightly oil or grease prior to fitting the adaptor collar. If required, it can be gently and fully tightened in place using a leather oil filter strap or similar.
The FlatRacer BMW Monza cap kit offers outstanding quality and it is beautifully finished, with our usual attention to detail.
We were the first to design this Monza cap conversion kit and still is the best and the only one fitted with BMW original seals.
Please do not confuse it with inferior replicas on the market place fitted with cheaper, monkey metal chromed caps that pit and corrode notoriously. Unlike other kits, ours include an original BMW dust seal and lower grooved o-ring, ensuring a proper function and fit.
